Statement
This is a free mixtape, made for free, downloadable/streaming for free Recorded music is free//cannot be sold in a post-internet world
“So this, um, ‘mixtape’ thing that I’m trying to do, uhhhhm, uhh, it involves some of me rapping, hopefully other people rapping ‘cause I’m not really that great. I made a few beats, they’re alright, I guess. Um, the main, thing that I’m trying to do with it, I think, is (*clears throat*) is explain that music is free now because it cost me zero dollars and zero cents to make this. Aaand, it should cost the listener, if there are any, or if there is any listener... listener, listeners... if there are any listeners – they should also... it should also cost them zero dollars and zero cents. Because, I torrented the programs that I’m using on my computer from
kickasstorrents.com, or whatever it is. Uhh, I was gonna do beats, or make beats and record shit anyway, so it’s not really costing me my time, and all the samples that I use are either torrented or ripped off of youtube or got off
archive.org, public domain, imslp – all the classical music stuff is from imslp. Uhhm... so... I’m just gonna make this, and put it on the internet somewhere, and I’m gonna have so much fun doing it. I am having so much fun doing it.”

Thanks
To all that helped me mix, record (especially Tom Mark, a mentor of sorts), the Bad Boys of Bellmore, the 318 crew, the bard homies, everyone that’s helped me make this and learn how to do it. Thanks to the internet also, the neverending source of information and sonic material. Thanks to Youtube especially for all of the samples.
Recorded at the Blum Studio at Bard College, Annandale Jan 16th and 17th, April 3rd and 4th
